The visual artist of the 2026–27 season at Klockriketeatern is familiar to the theatre’s audience: Ksenia Peretrukhina is a set designer, visual artist, educator and contemporary theatre theorist. Her interdisciplinary artistic practice spans visual art, theatre, opera and socially engaged performing arts, with a particular focus on space – as both a physical location and a social and political structure.
For more than two decades, her work has been presented internationally at exhibitions, theatres and festivals across Europe, North America and Latin America. She has collaborated with museums, theatres and cultural institutions and has also worked in opera.
Peretrukhina’s practice is characterised by a spirit of experimentation, collective working methods and a strong interest in how artistic spaces can foster encounters, shared imagination and social change. She has been nominated for and awarded several significant prizes, including the Golden Mask, the Innovation Prize and the Kandinsky Prize.
Over the course of the year, Peretrukhina will be working on both Klockriketeatern’s productions and the theatre’s overall visual identity. At the opening of the season on 26 August, Peretrukhina’s oil painting ‘The Dancing Bag’ will be unveiled; it forms part of a series of works specially commissioned for Klockriketeatern.
