We invite you to a show based on the Swedish poet and singer-songwriter Carl Michael Bellman's life and works.
The humorous show full of excitement, dreams and longing, offers an insight into Bellman's world, through his words and music.
Through this lovesong to the Swedish language, we get to experience Bellman's time (not that different from ours, after all!) in a unique way. The performance speaks to a modern audience, without forgetting the darker tones that form the foundation for a lot of Bellmans poetry.
Skärgårdsteatern is a Finnish-Swedish tradition, dating back to 1969. The theater sails along the Finnish-Swedish coast from Loviisa via the Åland Islands to the Turku archipelago with the vessel m/s Sälö, performing in local community centres.
Solen glimmar blank och trind,
Vattnet likt en spegel;
Småningom upblåser vind
I de fallna segel;
Vimpeln sträcks, och med en år
Olle på en Höbåt står;
Kerstin ur Kajutan går,
Skjuter lås och regel.
